			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Late Night Library</strong> is taking place on the Sunday (May 6), Monday (May 7) and Tuesday (May <img src='http://umd-sa.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif' alt='8)' class='wp-smiley' /> starting at 11:59pm outside the Library in the hallway. Join us for free food, coffee and study tips to make finals go smoothly!</p>
<p>Our <strong>Street Signs Fundraiser</strong> took place last Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings from 4-7pm. Due to a miscommunication and slow business, however, we only earned about $43.</p>
<p>The Duluth City Council approved the <strong>Higher Education Small Area Plan</strong> on Monday. Construction begins this fall, and it will take about 15-16 months before students can move in. It will house 800 students and contain 40,000 sq ft of retail space!</p>
<p>Our <strong>Put the Public Back in Public Higher Education</strong> rally was last Friday, but you can still sign our petition! Come to the Student Association office and add your name to a list of over 400 students who are fed up with the high cost of tuition.</p>
<p>Next year&#8217;s Exec board and other interested members will be taking the <strong>Intercultural Diversity Inventory</strong>, led by Jone Sargen and Paula Peterson.</p>
<p>If you are interested in <strong>joining our Marketing and Communications program</strong> for next year, please stop by the Student Association office to pick up an application.</p>
<p>Congress discussed and <em>reviewed</em> the <strong>Co-Sponsorship Guidelines</strong>.</p>
<p>This was our last Congressional meeting for 2011-2012. The first meeting for the 2012-2013 year will be May 3rd.</p>

<p>The Campus Change Team is converting one-stall bathrooms to <strong>Gender Neutral Bathrooms</strong>. This is currently being implemented at UMD, and may be taken to the Board of Regents to be considered on a university-wide basis.</p>

<p>On Friday, April 20th from 12-3pm in the Kirby Lounge, SA is sponsoring an event called <strong>Put the Public Back in Public Education</strong>. The goal for this rally is to show the administration that students are fed up with the high cost of tuition. There will be a petition that students can sign which will be delivered to the administration, in addition to an open mic where students can shout out how far in debt they are. Come for the food if nothing else, Tacos in a Bag will be served.</p>
<p>The <strong>Legal Q&amp;A</strong> is on April 17th at 7pm. There will be legal representation there to get your rental and legal questions answered.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This week is <strong>Yell Like Hell</strong> week. Stop by our table and tell us about concerns you have about our campus. There will be an open forum on Friday, April 13 from 10am to 2pm in the Kirby Lounge, all students are invited to come and speak about their concerns.</p>
<p>Student Association is sponsoring a <strong>Street Signs Fundraiser</strong> to raise money to change the street signs near UMD to Maroon and Gold. Come join us at Buffalo Wild Wings from 4-7pm on April 18th. Sign up on our <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/186974511419578/">Facebook event</a> page!</p>
<p>The City Council will vote on the <strong>Higher Education Small Area Plan</strong> on April 9th at 7pm. If all goes well, hopefully construction will begin this summer.</p>
<p>Student Association members attended the Student Civic Leadership Conference on March 31st and learned and shared much with representatives from many other schools throughout Minnesota. See President Mumm if interested in learning about more.</p>
<p>We are sponsoring the <strong>What America Wants</strong> event, which is evaluating the social and cultural aspects of America&#8217;s needs. It will take place on April 20th at 12-2pm.</p>
<p>There will be open forums for three <strong>Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Life</strong> candidates. The first will be <strong>Deborah Carlson</strong>, taking place on April 11th in the Garden Room at 2:30pm. The second will be <strong>Corbin Smyth</strong> and will take place on April 12th in the Griggs P/Q Conference Room at 2:30pm. The third will <strong>David Galt</strong> and will take place on April 16th in the Garden Room at 2:30pm.</p>
<p>Student Senate voted on an <strong>addition to the Student Conduct Code</strong> which defines <strong>bullying </strong>and<strong> sexual assault</strong>.</p>
<p>Freshman are being surveyed for the Dining Center feedback. If you are a Freshman, please check your email and respond!</p>
<p>Congress discussed a resolution to oppose the <strong>Student Health Care Plan</strong> implementation.</p>
<p>Congress discussed and tabled the bylaws for the <strong>Marketing and Communications Program</strong>.</p>
<p>Congress discussed and approved a resolution for <strong>Purchase of a Web Host and Skin</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Bulldog Lobby Day</strong> was very successful, with 33 people going and a full day talking to legislators. Thank you to everyone who went on Wed March 28. A special thanks to Senator Reinhert for helping us out that day and giving us a shout out on the Senate floor.</p>

<p>This week is <strong>elections week</strong>. The elections <strong>debate</strong> takes place on April 4th at 4pm in the Kirby Lounge, come and hear your candidates&#8217; platforms and ask them questions! <strong>Elections</strong> are April 5th and 6th, vote online or at our booth outside the bookstore.</p>
<p>For all student groups, the second edition of <strong>The Informer</strong> is coming out next week, pick it up in the SA office.</p>
<p>The Dining Center will be surveyed during lunchtime on Thursday, April 5th, to help improve food quality.</p>
<p>Next year, the Underground will no longer feature video gaming stations. The contract is ending, and outside of a core group, the stations are not being used very often. The billiards tables and study areas aren&#8217;t going away, though!</p>
<p>Congress approved a resolution for the <strong>MSLC Proposed Changes</strong>. UMD will join the Minnesota Student Legislative Coalition contingent on these changes to the MSLC charter.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Welcome back from Spring Break, Duluth!</p>
<p>The Spring round of <strong>Yell Like Hell</strong> is coming up on April 9-13. Just last like semester, stop by our table, our office or (this time) our website and yell like hell about what you think needs changing on campus. There will also be an open forum on April 13th</p>
<p>This Wednesday, March 28th, is <a href="http://www.d.umn.edu/external-affairs/homepage/12/bulldogday.html"><strong>Bulldog Lobby Day!</strong></a> Sponsored by the Student Legislative Coalition, students are invited to come down to the state capitol to lobby on behalf of all UMD students for lower tuition. There will be free breakfast and lunch provided. The buses leave at 7:30 from the Bus Hub in front of the Kirby Student Center. Come into the office to sign up, or contact Jason Reid (reid0182) for more information.</p>
<p>Freshman Boost Day is here again. On Thursday, March 29th in the LSH Lobby, the Freshman Committee will be serving breakfast starting at 7:30 in the morning. Get your boost while it lasts!</p>
<p>The Student Association will be looking into the new <a href="http://www.d.umn.edu/registrar/health.html">Health Care policy</a> that is being put into place for Fall 2012 registration. There are several concerns over the requirements for existing health care providers and the process the U is providing. If you are interested in voicing concerns about the Health Care policy, speak to Andy Blackwell (black543) about it.</p>

Pick up your application in the office or use the link here on our website. Turn them in by 5pm in the SA office at KSC 115.</p>
<p><strong>Elections</strong> for Student Association will beheld April 5th and 6th. There will be a <strong>debate</strong> on April 4th at 4pm in the Kirby Lounge between our Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates to get to know your candidates. Join us, refreshments will be served.</p>
